Having published eight images of butterflies in the last couple of days it was time to give them a rest. Time to move on to other subjects.
Weeds make fine images, lots of texture and even a little drama. Flowers are good too.
But despite hundreds of acres of foliage, water, birds, etc. at Fort Harrison State Park, I went right back to the butterflies.
You may not be able to count them all, but there are nine butterflies in this image:
I suppose I could have called some friends and asked them to talk me out of it but they would have wanted to come along too.
My name is Barry. I photograph butterflies.

Yes you do. Love ’em
Is there a reason why there are SO many butterflies available? I get the feeling that it is unusual
Truly Barry I would not expect you to stop yourself, I don’t think I could of either!! The butterflies are beautiful creatures and seeing so many at one time is definitely an image to capture…I did look up on the web why there are so many butterflies this year….no one really knows but mostly the conclusions drawn are either a rare combinations of the right weather, the right balance of predators to insects and the right amount of food in the area…..or this might be their migratory path this year….whatever it is I’m thrilled to see an abundance and love seeing what you capture…
