The days grow short when you reach September

A few days ago the thistle blossoms were covered with butterflies and now the numbers are much reduced.  In the hot weather morning was a good time to see them but cooler weather is here and afternoon is now the better choice.

Photographing butterflies on a windy day is good exercise for toning up the reflexes.  Whoops, that wasn’t a butterfly at all.

And with the cooler weather September Song is the background music.

Oh, it’s a long, long while from May to December
But the days grow short when you reach September
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
One hasn’t got time for the waiting game

Indeed with the shortening of days the butterflies are fewer and all the more precious.

Don’t wait, go out and shoot.

  1. You really captured a number of different butterflies the last time out. I just dead headed my butterfly bush adn hope to get 1 last batch of good blossoms for our little winged fairies.

  2. The days are growing shorter, slight changes each day, but we feel it in the air….as do the butterflies and flowers. Last minute glimpses of beauty and color…capture them while we can….you have done so with skill…wind, fluttering, reaching for the sweet nectar…your images are sharp….rememberances of a day that will soon no longer be able to captured…. thanks for sharing.
