Barry, we share a similar attraction to peeling paint; nice to catch it with the lamps. I have a number of these sorts of images that I’m collecting–for what I cannot yet imagine, but sometimes I use them as a layer of texture under something else.
Burke, I’m preparing a talk for for my camera club on making and using textures. Another good source are the tiles in bathrooms. Since I wear my little camera on my belt now (no I didn’t wear a sliderule there back in the ’50s) I don’t look quite so odd going into the men’s bathroom to take pictures of the tiles.
Got a good laugh out of that one!
The textures and the grays are truly interesting. And I don’t think I’ve ever “seen” torn paint like this. Thank you.
